49ers coach Kyle Shanahan seems ready to make a decision without consulting his veteran players.
After the success of the 49ers with two straight wins in the Eastern Time Zone to open the season, Shanahan said he wants to have a 10-day road trip again when the 49ers play at the Baltimore Ravens on the 1st. December, followed by a game at the Saints of New Orleans the following Sunday.
"I think they know how that happened, and I think they understand," Shanahan said Monday when he returned to Santa Clara. "I think everyone has different opinions, and I think no one will dispute the fact that it makes sense."
Now, Shanahan said the 49ers' travel logistics services, consisting of Steve Risser and Michael Slap, were under pressure to gather the details of the trip.
On the 49ider Insider podcast, several members of the 49ers explained that it was advantageous for the team to spend the week training in Youngstown, Ohio, instead of returning to the Bay Area after the victory of week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"All week we knew it was going to be tough," linebacker Fred Warner said. "We were in a new place and these practices were difficult and we worked on them. We knew it would pay off on Sunday. And, obviously, the result showed it. We went out shooting with our hair on fire. "
The 49ers scored on seven of their first nine possessions in a 41-17 win on Sunday and extended their lead over the Cincinnati Bengals to 41-10 after the first play of the fourth quarter. Raiding midfielder Raheem Mostert provided a huge game early in the game when he made his way through the end zone with a 39-yard shot to give the 49ers a 14-7 lead. "Obviously, we won this game and our trip was a success, so I'm sure we'll take it into account," Sherman said. "But I'm sure they'll take what our women have to say, and what his wife (Shanahan) has to say, and what the kids have to say."

Sherman joked that the group of travelers might be bigger next time because the wives and children of the players and coaches might also want to be included.
"We could have a bigger trip with a larger group of people because we would need another 10 days without the family in mid-December or November, anytime," he said.
