In January, 49ers vice president of player personnel Adam Peters interviewed for the role of general manager of the Panthers, and although he did not get that job, he was named as a likely candidate to become a future general manager. So it’s no surprise that he’s online for a promotion.
The 49ers announced today that Peters has been promoted to deputy general manager.
Peters has four years of experience with the 49ers and was the Broncos’ director of varsity scouting before that. Overall, he spent 18 seasons on the NFL staff.
The 49ers may still lose Peters to another team on the road, but for now he’s getting a promotion and a title that can help him secure a GM job.
