The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they have signed a two – year contract between RB Tevin Coleman and WR Jordan Matthews for a one – year contract.
Coleman (6-1, 210) was originally drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Over the last four seasons with the Falcons (2015-18), he played in 56 games (20 starts) and recorded 528 runs for 2,340 yards and 18 touchdowns, while adding 92 receptions for 1,010 yards and 11 touchdowns. Coleman also participated in five playoff games and recorded 53 runs for 234 yards and one touchdown, as well as 11 receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

During his five year career in the NFL with the Eagles (2014- 16 and 2018) and Buffalo Bills (2017), he recorded 270 receptions for an average of 3,255 yards (12.1) and 22 touchdowns. In 2018, Matthews signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent on April 6, 2018. After his release from New England on August 7, he resumed the contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on September 19, where he played 14 games (three starts). ) and recorded 20 receptions for 300 yards and two touchdowns.
Matthews, 26, from Madison, Alberta, attended Vanderbilt University. In four years with the Commodores (2010-13), he has played 51 games (37 starts) and finished his career as the all-time leader of the SEC in receptions (262) and receiving yards (3,759) , totaling a school record receiving touchdowns.
