5 employees of NC posts charged with drugs and mail theft

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – A federal prosecutor said five North Carolina postal workers had been charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and steal mail.

US attorney Robert Higdon Jr. said in a press release that the five Fayetteville Treatment and Distribution Annex workers – Kelvin Donnell Johnson, Khadie Elijah Beamon, Timothy Lydell Jones, Carvis Charles Marable and Brandon Darnell McNeill – conspired to sell marijuana to packages and removed from the mail flow.

Higdon said the offenses were allegedly committed between October 2017 and February 2018.

If found guilty, the suspects could be sentenced to five years in prison, a fine of $ 250,000 and a conditional release under supervision after each incarceration.
