5 ‘good for her’ horror and thriller movies you can stream for Halloween

The horror movies for October are just stunning. The spooky season might look a little different this year, but it’s not Halloween without some scary movies to really make you afraid to turn out the lights at night.

But what if a horror movie could scare you and Well done for the main character at the end? These five films are really in this camp. They all have different levels of scary, but they all have one thing in common when it comes to the main female protagonist: you might find yourself saying “Good for her” at the end.

1. “Ready or not”

Ready not ready was released in 2019 and stars Samara Weaving as Grace, a woman marrying into a rich and filthy family who made her fortune from board games. Her groom, Alex Le Domas (Mark O’Brien) is very nervous about this family tradition of playing a game on their wedding night. Why? Because one of the possible options involves a deadly game of hide and seek. While Grace is very skeptical of the seriousness of the game at first, she quickly understands.

2. “We”

One of Jordan Peele’s awesome horror movies, We is about a family taking a trip to a cute little beach house for a getaway. However, they are bombarded with lookalikes and things become very weird and bloody very quickly. There’s a lot to unwrap in this movie, and honestly, it takes the whole movie to absorb it all. But there are a few characters who might make you say “Good for her”. Or maybe not. But the multiple interpretations and opinions make the beauty of this film.

3. “Midsummer”

Midsummer could be the perfect “Good For His Movie”. It stars Florence Pugh as Dani, a traumatized young woman who is truly with a boyfriend. Anyway, he and his friends travel to Sweden to participate in the festival in a rural village, thanks to one of said friends. This horror movie not only succeeds in scaring its viewers with daylight footage, but it shocks you too.

4. “Jennifer’s body”

Jennifer’s bodyThe big ‘Good For Her’ moment may be at the end of the movie, or it could also be the big new acceptance the film received 10 years after its release. It wasn’t marketed properly, but this film is truly a commentary on the horrors women face and general karma. It’s also hilarious, with a killer script from JunoIt’s Diablo Cody. Plus, Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried are truly iconic.

5. “The witch”

Finally is The witch, which is probably the most gruesome movie on this list. It takes place in the 1630s in New England, when the east was newly settled and religious and Puritan fanatics were everyone there was. The haunted, spooky forest combined with this fierce theology makes for a truly scary movie that – you guessed it – has a witch in it. Anya Taylor-Joy is playing and it’s the perfect movie to really scare you this Halloween.
