More than 8,900 people invaded the Red Hat Summit this week in Boston, where the company's open source software company released the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 operating system and its OpenShift 4 Kubernetes platform .
Ginni Rometty, Director of IBM, and Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, shared the stage of the main session with Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst at the fifteenth edition of the Source Code Technology Event open. Rometty spoke about IBM's upcoming acquisition of Red Hat for $ 34 billion and their future relationship. Nadella was there to help Azure Red Hat OpenShift, the new enterprise-class Kubernetes platform that enables developers to run on-premise container-based applications and via Azure, Microsoft's public cloud. I hope that says a lot about open source and our role, but also about these companies, their desire to serve customers and their desire to adopt open source. "
