The last season of "Game of thrones" is on us and the winter is finally here.
It's like forever since the fantastic drama of HBO honored our screens and the anticipation of season 8 has continued to grow. As in the past, the last season of "Game of Thrones" was kept secret to avoid any type of spoilers, trailers hardly give anything.
Fortunately, we are now only a sleep away from the first.
The eighth season will unfortunately have the least episodes, with only six, but episodes 4, 5 and 6 will far exceed one hour.
While the big question now is how this is going to end, we are dying to know who will end up on the iron throne, the identity of the "prince who was promised" and even more so to About the history of Night King.
If you are a "GoT" nerd like us, then you know that Reddit is a paradise for "Game of Thrones" theories. And because we are nice and understand that you are stressed by the new season, TooFab has gone deep into the story of Reddit and "Game of Thrones" for you pump for this Sunday.
here is five very important theories that every Westerosi must know:
Valonqar Theory: Jaime Lannister will kill Cersei
Many predict that Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) will die in the series, but How she will be killed is the ultimate question. the valonqar theory Not only is it the most popular, but it is also one of the most plausible theories.
If you remember, in Season 5 – Episode 1, a young Cersei visited a witch named Maggy the Frog in a flashback sequence. In memory, Cersei received his prophecy from Maggy, who told him that all his children would die. "The gold will be their crown and gold their shroud," she said. (R.I.P. Marcella and Tommen, but we do not really hope that Joffrey is resting in "peace".)
However, in the book "Game of Thrones" "A feast for crows," Maggy added, "And when your tears are drowned, the valonqar will wrap his hands around your white throat and smother the life of you." Cersei learned that "Valonqar" is High Valyrian for "little brother". If this theory is true, it means either his twin brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) – he was born after her – either Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) would be the one who would kill her.
So, what is the probability of this theory? Well, think about where we left Cersei and Jaime for the last time. The characters went through all of this and Jaime, shocking, stood alongside Cersei during all his crazy antics. But if you remember, at the end of season 7, Cersei told Jon Snow (Harington Kit), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and the gang that she would send to Lannister's army to help the North fight the army of the dead. However, after they left, Cersei told Jaime that she was lying. Jaime apparently decided to leave because he promised to fight for the living. (This is our Jaime!)
Also, do not forget that Jaime is dubbed the stage manager after killing the insane Dany, the crazy king, when he wanted to fire King's Landing. And many argued that Cersei had become the mad queen when she had burned Baelor's Seven in the last episode of Season 6.
Another thing we would like to emphasize, some theoreticians of Reddit and "GoT" Fans also hope that Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) will be the one who will kill Cersei because she is one of the many people on her "list" of names. Since Arya is a faceless man, she could easily take Jaime's face and kill Cersei.
Bran is the king of the night
A very popular fan theory is that Brandon Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) is actually the king of the night. This one has many variations, many of which involve a trip back in time, but by and large it looks like this:
With his special abilities – he's a warrior, has prophetic dreams and a green vision – Bran is the key to everything. Future Bran learns the Great War and the Army of the Dead and will come back in time to stop the Night King. As a Reddit user turm0il26 written in a very detailed theory, "Bran thinks that he will eventually (with more knowledge) able to rewrite the story and that is why he decides to go back and stop the King of the night several times, but fails each time, ending up filling the timeline-circle and taking the identity of the king of the night himself ".
The "failures" of Bran are present in the theories of many Reddit users. There are three.
-
In his first attempt, explains tum0il26, Bran tried to warn the mad king of the looming threat of the White Walkers and told him to use the forest fire to destroy them. When we hear the crazy king yell: "Burn them all" – as Bran's backtrack shows in episode 6 of season 6 – it's Bran who whispered the words to the king and he repeated them. Although Bran refers to the army of the undead, the mad king went mad and tried to burn King's Landing.
-
The second time, Bran went back in time and became Bran the Builder, where he built The Wall to protect Westeros from the White Walkers and created Winterfell, with the words "There must always be a Stark at Winterfell".
-
The third and last time, Bran returned to the creation of the king of the night and was turned into a human who became the king of the night and tried to prevent the creation of the White Walkers.
We'll just have to wait and see if it will happen, but Jon Snow who has to kill his brother sounds like a "bitter-sweet" end George R.R. Martin promised.
Three-headed dragon: Tyrion is half targaryen
As we know, Jon Snow is actually Aegon Targaryen, the son of Rhaegar (Dany's brother) and Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister). However, there are theories that Tyrion also has a hidden lineage and is the son of Aerys Targaryen (the mad king, Dany's father) and Joanna Lannister, the wife of Tywin Lannister.
Back in season 2, Daenerys goes to the House of the Living Dead in Qarth. In the books, it is here that Dany has a vision of Rhaegar telling him that "the dragon has three heads", which is the seal of the Targaryen house.
In the history of the "GoT," the first lord of the Seven Kingdoms and King of Westeros, Aegon Targaryen, a.k.a Aegon the Conqueror would have defeated him as he was riding a dragon beside his two sisters on their dragons. Therefore, the prophecy has been interpreted to mean that Daenerys must have three dragon riders before she can take the throne.
If this theory is verified, it would be logical for Jon and Dany to be the first two runners. And Tyrion could be the third. In season 6, Tyrion faced the dragons in the Meereen Tombs and remained unscathed. In the books, he has been described as having always loved fire-breathing creatures. More importantly, Twyin has often called Tyrion "not his son" throughout the series.
A Reddit user also pointed out that Dany, Jon and Tyrion have all lost their mothers while giving birth. It can not be a coincidence, right?
Do not forget though that one of Dany's dragons, Viserion, is now dead or rather "undead", so that someone might eventually be forced to ride an ice dragon – unless someone like Melisandre brings Viserion back to life, but it's a totally different thing. conversation.
Gendry will be more important than you think
Ahh Gendry, one of our favorite characters who, in our opinion, is often underestimated. Fortunately, all this could change. We know Gendry as one of Robert Baratheon's bastards. However, many people think that there is a lot more to Gendry's story, which we could learn in season 8. Some people think that Gendry, like Jon, is not a bastard after all, but the firstborn of Cersei Lannister.
Back in season 1, while Bran was in a coma, Cersei talked to Catelyn Stark about her first child who died in childbirth. She said the baby was born with black hair. We always thought it was just a way to show that Jaime's three children, born with blond hair, were not legitimate. But the big question is: if this black haired girl is actually Gendry and not dead, how did the child escape?
Reddit user u92beck proposes that Jaime simulate the death of the baby because he wants all the children of Cersei to be his and only his. The user writes: "Jaime was so in love with Cersei and jealous of her relationship with Robert (it seems like she was in love with Jaime and Robert at the time) that he decided to get rid of the child with which they bound. He replaced the baby with another who was already dying of fever and planned either to kill or to get rid of the real baby. Either he or an accomplice (possibly ignoring Jaime's orders to kill the baby), gave the baby to the child. blacksmith with money to keep the baby safe. "
The person also pointed out another interesting clue. In the same conversation that Cersei had with Catelyn during Season 1, as noted above, Cersei described the black-haired infant as a "fighter". And in season 7, Gendry is described as a fighter. It could be just a coincidence, it is very interesting.
More importantly, if all this were true and Gendry was a real son born of Robert and Cersei, he would have a claim as legitimate as Jone on the iron throne.
Moreover, in novels, without much spoiling, another very legitimate claim of the throne is reversed at birth.
Azor Ahai: the prince (or the princess) promised
Another popular theory involves Azor Ahai, "The prince who has been promised" a prophesied hero of the Lord of the Light. If you remember, Melisandre (Carice van Houten) thought that Stannis Baratheon was elected, but after his death and after she brought Jon back to life, the red priestess mentioned that Jon would be Azor Ahai and that Daenerys Targaryen would also have a role to play.
Fans have discussed many options over the years about prophecy – Beric Dondarrion, Jaime Lannister and Rhaegar Targaryen were even suggested in the conversation – but both most likely and popular candidates are Jon and Daenerys.
For reference, the prophecy states that "when the red star will bleed and darkness darkens, Azor Ahai will be born again in the midst of smoke and salt to awaken stone dragons." It was said that the prince had a burning fire sword, named Lightbringer, which he had formed by sacrificing his wife, Nissa Nissa. The last part seems particularly wild, but let's be realistic, it would be shocking if both Jon and Daenerys have survived the last season (we still hopefully secretly).
You will find below the two arguments in simple terms. There are many interpretations for this prophecy.
Jon Snow is Azor Ahai:
-
"Reborn in the midst of smoke and salt": "Smoke" is one of the most delicate parts of Jon's case. We think that "smoke" could represent the fact that his birth was a secret. Some also think that the "smoke" could come from Jon's injuries when Melisandre brought him back to life. "Salt" could refer to Lyanna's tears.
-
"Awaken Stone Dragons:" Jon and Co. pull Dragonstone dragonglass dragon. In addition, Jon is Targaryen after all and has "dragon's blood".
-
"Light Bearer:" Jon will have to sacrifice Daenerys. He also has a Valyrian steel sword "Longclaw", so some people suggest that he could already have the sword.
Daenerys Targaryen is Azor Ahai:
-
"Born again in smoke and salt": Dany was born in Dragonstone. The "salt" could refer to her tears, she cried when Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) died or the "salt" of the ocean. People suggest that "smoke" refers to the moment when Daenerys came out unscathed from Drogo's funeral pyre in the season finale.
-
"Awakens Stone Dragons:" She hatches or awakens three dragons from their eggs, made of stone and considered fossils.
-
"Light bearer:" Dany will have to sacrifice Jon or maybe a dragon. Fans even think that his dragons can be considered his "burning sword". In addition, some even claim that Dany has already made his sacrifice by giving his dragon to the King of the night for Jon.
"Game of Thrones" Season 8 will air on Sunday, April 14 at 9pm. AND on HBO
