5 things to know for May 3: Mueller report, China, measles, Facebook, e-scooters

1. Mueller report

President Trump seemed pleased with the Mueller report. Apparently, his white house was not there. In a five-page letter, White House lawyer Emmet Flood criticized the report of special advocate Robert Mueller on the investigation conducted in Russia. Flood said Mueller should have made a decision on any charges of obstructing justice against Trump. The report found no evidence that the 2016 Trump campaign was colluding with Russia, but there was no evidence that the president was obstructing justice.

2. China

The Pentagon said that China was using espionage to steal secrets in order to strengthen its army. A new report indicates that China uses various methods to obtain advanced technologies, including "the online theft and the exploitation of Chinese nationals' access to these technologies". These techniques helped China to obtain US military equipment, including aviation technologies and the anti-submarine warfare. The Joint Chiefs of Staff recently warned Congress that US companies operating in China often indirectly benefited the Chinese army.

3. measles

The doctor of a quarantined cruise ship requested 100 doses of the measles vaccine. The ship, which is owned by the Church of Scientology and has about 300 passengers and crew, left St. Lucia to reach its port of origin in Curacao. A woman member of the crew is suffering from the highly contagious disease. It is not clear when the passengers will be allowed to leave the ship. At the same time, officials in New Jersey and Pennsylvania warn of exposure to measles. An international traveler with a confirmed case was at the Newark Liberty International Airport on March 12th. There could also be an exposure at the Pittsburgh International Airport. Questions about measles? Here are some answers.

4. Facebook

Do not look for Alex Jones, Louis Farrakhan or Milo Yiannopoulos on Facebook. The social media giant has expelled them, along with several other personalities, from his platform because they are considered "dangerous." Some critics scoffed at Facebook's decision, saying it was only a matter of doing the press and diverting attention from its privacy and data-sharing issues.

5. E-scooters

You can not wait to ride on an e-scooter? You may want to take a security course first. A new study found that 1 in 3 injured runners were injured during his first-ever outing. And 63% of electric scooter drivers had driven nine times or less before their injury. The electric scooters of companies such as Lime and Bird flooded the American cities last year. They are still so recent that they have not been studied yet. Researchers say more training may be needed to ensure the safety of electric scooter drivers.
