6 winners and 5 losers after the Steelers' victory over the Chiefs

the Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the field Saturday night when they hosted the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 NFL preseason action. The Steelers were ______ in the contest, but that does not mean that all the players had a good performance.

As this is the pre-season, many of the critics will not even be employed by the Steelers organization starting in September, but the judging process must continue. Players who play well may be considered "winners", while those who have left much to be desired may be called "losers". This may seem hard, but it is the crux of this exercise.

Let's see who fell off which side of the ledger after the first week of pre-season …

winners

James Washington
Stat Line: 4 receptions, 78 meters, average of 19.5

I thought maybe James Washington 's production would drop from one week to the next, but I was wrong. Washington has not only had a productive day, but has shown great versatility. Until now, in two weeks, he has demonstrated his ability to catch the ball deep, to get out of the defenders of the jumps, to pass over the center and his nice touch in the side was a thing of all beauty. Washington is arguing for an increase in playing time in 2019.

James Conner
Stat Line: 6 rushes, 28 yards, 4.7 yards on average / 1 rec, 6 yards

It was the first time Conner had been in a full contact situation since the 2018 regular season, and he did not disappoint. It was not like Conner was raging on the Chiefs, but his ability to always go on and make life harder for a defense is always fun to watch. Conner seems ready for 2019.

Jaylen Samuels
Stat Line: 4 rushes, 26 meters, 6.5 meters on average, 1 TD

Samuels looks like a different player this preseason compared to last year. He looks faster, more agile and thinner than the 2018 version. His stats line has not left the page, but every game, he proves he is more than capable of becoming the next player raised if Conner was to get hurt at any point in the season.

Rudolph Bricklayer
Stat Line: 10/15 77 meters

The statistics do not scream "winner", but I put Rudolph here because even though he had a slow start, he was perfectly in control of the offense. His presence in the pocket has been significantly improved this year and his arm is more beautiful than ever. Rudolph put the football in very narrow windows and did not always get much help from his teammates. Rudolph probably did not get QB # 2 on Saturday night, but he took a big step in that direction, in my opinion.

Bud Dupree
Stat Line: 3 tackles, 3 bags, 2 TFL

It's just the pre-season, but if Dupree could produce this type of production in 2019, the Steelers defense could be much better than it was in 2018. He's just a player, but 'He is able to represent a threat against TJ Watt, Steelers' defense can be a formidable opponent in terms of offenses.

Turnover
Stat Line: 3-course takeaway

After last year, all the takeaway points are huge. The Steelers forced three turnovers, all failures, and it was a pleasant surprise.

losers

Turnover
Line of statistics: 2 gifts

The Steelers may have taken the ball three times, but they also had two very bad turnovers. The interception of Joshua Dobbs' goal line is the type of game Steelers fans have seen too much in 2018. Mike Tomlin mentioned his fun with the defense at the post-press conference. match, but he also explained just how problematic gifts.

Xavier Grimble
Stat Line: 1 reception, 13 meters

Grimble is on this list because of the fact that he had a terrible crash early in the game. It's not just the fact that he dropped the ball, but the fact that he's fighting for a place on the board of the depths, in a ridiculously thin position, and that he could have really put a point of exclamation on his performance. Instead, the fans are not wondering if, but when, the Steelers will qualify for the tight position before the season.

Donte Moncrief
1 reception, 1 courtyard, 1 breakaway

What a way to start your career in Pittsburgh, but it was not just the breakaway, it was timing. After the Steelers' defense provoked an escape from Carlos Hyde, Rudolph was hit by the next game. He then coughed the ball, which allowed him to return to Kansas City. I do not close the book on Moncrief, but it was not a good start for his term at Steel City.

NFL Network
Stat Line: You're awful

I'm sure I'm not alone when I sit down to watch the Steelers game, do some tricks at half-time and return to the Cowboys game against Rams. I know that the Steelers game started late, but you give up a game at half-time? Fortunately, I had access to the NFL Game Pass and could watch the game, but it was a poor quality job done by the NFL network.

Officials
Stat Line: This Pass interference rule is going to be a nightmare

So, they did not allow Diontae Johnson's first touchdown, where he did not intervene, but when the ball hit the ground on his second goal, the first that counted, the touchdown, they kept the call. If the season goes well, tie up and get ready to scream on TV more than usual.
