In producing this album and singing "Delta Dawn" with Tucker, Carlile told Tennessean: "I think we take our music legends for granted and wait, by and large, until they are too old to tell them (how much) we appreciate them. "

Asked about the red carpet about the genesis of this project, Tucker replied, "Well, that's a very long answer.

"What's the news? We had fun, a lot of fun."

Following their victory, Dan + Shay performed their current single "All to Myself" at the CMT Music Awards. With a more sign-like scene and a performance punctuated by fireworks, the moment was one of the most explosive of the night. Previously, the men were a little worried because they were not able to practice fireworks during rehearsals.

"It's always crazy when you do something like that," Smyers said. "In fact, when we repeated, there was someone who imitated with their hands."

The duo 's performance also included a helicopter and they joked that next year a rope would fall from the sky and fly off at the end.

Little Big Town celebrates 'girls'

Little Big Town presented his hit single "The Daughters" in the center of the stage on Wednesday night.

A moving ballad that emphasizes women's unbalanced expectations, the band sings: "And poses as a trophy on a shelf / Dream for everyone, but not yourself / I've heard about God the son and God the Father / I'm always looking for a god for girls. "

The Grammy-winning national quartet released "The Daughters" earlier this year, with the song debuting at the ACM Awards concert in April.

Karen Fairchild, a member of Little Big Town, co-wrote the title with Sean McConnell and Ashley Ray. As underlined In a thorough Tennessee story last week, "The Daughters" draws lyrical attention to religion – one of the many country songs to do this year.

"I believe that God's love is for everyone and I do not think he has an equality problem," Fairchild told Tennessean. "A lot of our lives are still designed in a masculine way for men, and that was just to say, where is the God for girls and why do we continue to lead these battles."

Thanks to Ashley McBryde

Ashley McBryde was so shocked when she won her trophy in the most impactful Video category of the year for "Girl Goin 'Nowhere". She did not know how to walk and politely slid Luke Combs' blue solo cut on the way to the stage.

"I ran and got his drink," McBryde said. "I do not have one, it helps me to have something in my hands when I said," Can I have your drink, "he said," Yes, of course. " "

The native of Arkansas admitted that not only did she take a sip, but that she accidentally spilled it on her clothes. Fortunately, Hunter Hayes reassured her immediately.

Gratitude was the theme of McBryde's party.

"It's a complete circle for this song," she explained about "Girl Goin 'Nowhere." "This did not attract much attention on the radio, but the fans voted for it and that's very important to us, especially for" Girl Goin "Nowhere". "

McBryde was inspired to write her autobiographical ballad by a high school algebra teacher who told her that she could not and should not follow her dreams as a singer-songwriter in Nashville.

"I'm at the CMT Awards and I just won a prize I wrote despite this bitter old bat," she said. "I hope her television was on.This is a jewel. It always inspires people, always.I lit a fire beneath me.It was the first" no "that I have ever received."

Zac Brown Band wins, drops f-bomb

Zac Brown, of Zac Brown 's band, let out a dramatic speech after winning the video group award of the year for "Someone I knew before".

Brown, the group's lead singer, took the stage with the rest of the group and pondered the time it took the musicians to do in their careers. Brown ended his speech with a surprise message to all who doubted him, saying that at one point you had to tell the "enemies" of "f — off".
