The Chargers sacked head coach Anthony Lynn on Monday, a day after the team ended their 2020 season with a 7-9 record. Lynn finished 33-31 in his four seasons with the Chargers.
Lynn, hired in 2017, started off by leading the Chargers to winning streak seasons, including a 12-4 record and a playoff win over the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. But the team has fallen dramatically over the course of the year. the past two seasons, in part because of a horrific chance of injury, and Lynn’s limitations as a game and time manager have been exposed in a tight losing streak. The Chargers finished 5-11 in 2019, and a team that suffered significant injuries this season struggled again despite a record-breaking season for quarterback Justin Herbert.
