JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Not a single Florida man, but eight and more were arrested and charged with participating in the riots on the Capitol earlier this month.

Their social media posts have many of them arrested. Like Bradley Weeks, 43.

He was seen on video both outside and inside the Capitol building, but was released Thursday on $ 5,000 bail, he will have nothing to pay if he follows restrictions ordered by the judge.

Then there is Joseph Biggs, 37.

The FBI said Biggs is an organizer of Proud Boy who was also seen inside the Capitol and was released on Wednesday under house arrest.

Attorney Gene Nichols, who is not affiliated with either case, said the court is automatically considering everyone’s release.

“If they don’t have a case file, and it looks like they’re going to appear in court and / or pose no threat to the community, many of these people are released on their own or on a non-monetary basis. . link, ”Nichols said.

He said each had different restriction conditions based on their alleged actions on Capitol Hill.

For example, Weeks had to give his weapons to a family member, wear a tracking device, and cannot have contact with anyone he went to in Washington DC.

News4Jax asked Nichols if the restrictions were enough.

“If there is any language used in social media sites, if there is a history of that person being involved with an organization. this is where you will see the differences between these conditions of obligation ”, he explained.

Nichols said it is never easy for judges to decide on the obligations for individuals as they must consider whether the person could pose a threat to the community while balancing that person’s right to be innocent until ‘until his guilt is established.

The FBI continues to take advice and seek to identify participants in the riots.

There are a few people in Florida that we know the agencies are looking at.

Nicholas has said their criminal charges will be processed in Washington DC and soon indictments will flow from grand jury investigations into potential homicide charges.

In addition, sedition and insurrection charges can result in higher bail amounts and pre-trial prison terms.
