Note 10 Plus has much more to offer than its appearance.

Juan Garzon / CNET

From Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a stellar apparatus (We are currently reviewing the smaller note 10). From the long life of the battery to an incredible screen to the new tips of the S Pen, Samsung's latest phone has it all.

After having your phone, there is a lot to learn. For example, take a screenshot and turn off the phones Note 10 works differently than previous Galaxy devices, and the camera is full of new stuff. But there are also some hidden features that can take your grade 10 to the next level.

That's to register your screen, with the possibility of including your voice, or to allow the raise to wake up so that your screen is always on when you need it, your phone can do a lot of things that may not be so obvious at first.

Note 10 Plus is not only great, it's exceptional

Use the raise to wake you up

Pressing a button to wake up your phone's screen is not a laborious task, but a useless task. Use note 10 Rising to wake up function so that your phone is always ready when you pick it up.

Open the Settings application and navigate to Advanced features > Movements and gestures and turn on Rising to wake up.

In the future, every time you pick up your phone, the screen will reactivate and you will immediately see the pending notifications.

Getting up to wake up – also called getting up to wake up – is a subtle but useful feature.

Display always active … all the time.

By default, the Always On Display (AOD) function of Note 10 is not, finally, always enabled. You must actually tap the screen to use it. It's … a little useless?

If you go to settings > Locked screen > Always active display to set a schedule, display at any time, or leave it at the tap to display.

Combine having AOD on at all times with the elevator to wake you up and your phone will always be ready.

A permanent display should always be on, right?

Another way to access the shortcuts of the lock screen

The lock screen has two application icons that act as shortcuts to open those applications. By default, these apps are the camera and phone apps. You can not only change the available applications, but you can also change the location of shortcuts.

Open settings > Locked screen > Shortcuts for applications and select Floating button if you prefer the application icons to appear next to the fingerprint sensor when you press and hold it.

Just below the presentation section you will find the possibility to change the left and right shortcuts.

For those who want something a little different.

If you choose the floating button setting, simply place your finger on the sensor and leave it there. After about a second, the application icon will appear; slide your finger on the application you want to open and lift it.

I found this shortcut only works when it is used from the lock screen. If you place your finger on the fingerprint sensor on the screen, your phone will simply unlock.

You do not know why you want to talk to Bixby, but for those who do, you can use it to shut down or restart your phone.

Restart the phone with your voice

We've already explained how Samsung's decision to move the power button is shocking when you start using Note 10. The new configuration complicates the fact that what should be the power button actually launches Bixby .

Fortunately, you can configure the power button to turn off your phone or launch another application (more on this in the next tip), then simply use Bixby to shut down or restart your phone.

Launch Bixby and use a variant of the "Restart my phone" or "Shut down my phone" command, then confirm your order when prompted.

Reprogram the side key to open any application

You do not have to use the power button to pause / resume your note 10, open the camera or trigger Bixby. You can reuse it to open the application of your choice.

Open the Settings app on your phone, and then go to Advanced features > Side key.

Once there, change the command by pressing twice Open application then select your favorite app.

Make the side key work for you and not the other way around.

Use multiple S pens

Maybe you have an S pen on your desktop and would you like to use it so you do not have to remove the S stylus from your note?

Go to settings > Advanced features > S Pen and turn on Use multiple S pens if you want to be able to draw on your note 10 with a different pen, even when your stylus is still in your phone.

Just below the switch corresponding to this feature, you are cautioned that its use may result in the depletion of your Note 10's battery faster than usual. Do not forget this.

You can use more than one S pen with your note 10.

Register your screen and yourself

The screen recording is integrated with Note 10, which offers rather interesting features. You can use screen recordings to guide a person through troubleshooting their phone, show them an exciting new feature, or even record yourself playing Fortnite with a video of your face as you show up.

Before using it for the first time, go to settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder > Settings of the screen recorder.

You can do very interesting things with screen recording on Note 10.

Indicate whether you want the screen recordings to record only the sound of your phone, use the microphone and system sound, or not at all. In addition, you can set the video quality. If you make a screen recording with a video of you using the front camera, you can adjust the side of the selfie cover.

With all this done, perform a screen recording by swiping from the top of your screen and selecting Screen recorder in the list of quick settings. I had to scroll a panel to the right to find it.

A toolbar appears at the top of your screen, which you can use to trigger the drawing tool, activate the selfie function, or stop recording. Press the Stop button when you have finished recording.

Smart Select is not new, but it should be emphasized.

Take better screenshots

You can take screenshots of exactly what you want by using the Smart Select feature of the S Pen. When you remove the S Pen Pen from the Note 10, a series of options will appear on the screen, press Smart Select.

Using the toolbar located at the bottom of the screen, you can select a crop tool that will use a square or rectangle for your screen capture. The cloud is a freehand drawing tool that you can use for an irregularly shaped screen capture. The circle will use a circle and the GIF button will save a portion of your screen to create a screen record converted to a moving picture.

Finally, the square icon with the pin in will take a screenshot and pin the image to your screen. This is especially useful if you need to reference something when you fill out a form or compose an email. Take and pin the screen capture and then delete it when you are done.
