Eight passengers in a van were killed Monday in a collision with a truck on a Mississippi highway early Monday, officials said.
The van was heading east on Highway 16 when it crashed with a Penske truck heading west near Scuba, Mississippi at approximately 4:23 pm local time. said the spokesman for the Mississippi Road Patrol, Sgt. Andy West.
The driver of the van was hospitalized in an unknown state, said West. The driver of the Penske truck was not injured, he said.
The accident is under investigation, West said.
