ST. LOUIS, Missouri (WILX) – According to officials, an eight-year-old child was killed and three others injured after going to a football jamboree at a St. Louis high school.

According to the police, students from some schools in the area gathered at Soldan High School for the Friday night celebration.

Friday evening around 19:30, the police responded to a fight involving about 100 students.

Half an hour later, as the officers cleared the area, a call was received for shots to be fired one block away.

Police in St. Louis said that an adult, two teenagers and the little girl had been shot dead.

"Just the idea that a family event like this … looks like the families involved and it's just unfortunate that people are not respectful of others," said Chief John W. Hayden.

Both teenagers would be in a stable state.

The woman also affected in the incident would be in critical but stable condition.
