Belle Ang, a resident of Milpitas, warned if a cold virus could kill her future healthy fourth-year student, Tristan Ang, "It could happen to any child," she told KTVU-TV.

"It's very unexpected. Very healthy and suddenly he left, "said Belle Ang to the TV channel.

Belle Ang said that her son died very quickly. He complained of fever, headache and nausea from time to time the week before his involvement in a taekwondo championship.

"We just think that he may be too tired, a little dehydrated," said the boy's father, Mark Ang. "We gave him Tylenol and Motrin, it would disappear, but not completely, and it would come back."

Test excluded a number of diseases. Then the Angs told KTVU, and then on June 28, Tristan Ang was rushed to the hospital, where he died several hours later, as a result of swelling of the brain caused by the 39; adenovirus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adenoviruses are common viruses that cause various diseases, including colds, sore throats, diarrhea and pink eyes.

"There were no signs of a cold, nothing," said Mark Ang.

Despite their grief, the Angs wanted other parents to know that what might be like a common cold or childhood illness could quickly turn into a deadly situation.
