For the first seasons of Game of thronesBook readers loved nothing more than to dominate us, humble spectators, who knew exactly what would happen on a show where it was almost impossible to guess what would happen. But after the sixth season, the writers of the series have exhausted all the resources of their books and had to venture alone, knowing only from the end to the end of the book, thanks to George R.R. Martin. So, really, apart from Martin, none of us knows what's going on with books.
Martin says he plans to write two more slices in the newspaper. Chant of ice and fire series, for a total of seven books, but he published his most recent, A dance with dragons, all the way in 2011, so WTF did it all this time? Even earlier than that, in 2010, he had already completed five chapters of the planned sixth book, Winter WindsSo, are we supposed to imagine that it took NINE years to not even invent the remaining chapters?
Technically, he took time to write Fire and blood, a book with the complete story of Targaryen House, and I can understand how difficult these books are to write, but when he left to readers a few crazy cliffhangers A dance with dragons, placing the next payout on the side to write a 700 page story book just looks mean.
Some people had thought that the new book would be published before the sixth season of the show, in 2016, the author himself 70 years old declaring himself in 2015 that an end deadline year was feasible. But if it misses deadlines and has just finished a sixth book, Lord of Light only knows when the seventh and last book, A dream of spring, go outside. Will the books still exist there ?! And more importantly, will George R. R. Martin live long enough to complete it?
