Sony no longer forbids accounts to have offensive PSN credentials • Eurogamer.net

Sony has confirmed that it has modified its protocol to handle potentially inappropriate user names for PSNs.

Instead of outright banning the account, Sony will swap the offending name for a temporary, non-offensive name. This change is part of the recent changes to the PlayStation Network's Terms of Service (ToS), which also allow players to change their PSN credentials.

In the future, PSN credentials that are deemed to violate the PSN ToS will be replaced with a temporary identifier that reads as follows: "TempXXXX & # 39; (thank you, Gamasutra) Players can then select another identifier or return for free to their old identifier (provided that this name does not contravene the new ToS, of course).

Do not forget that PlayStation has compiled a long list of tested games, likely to have problems with accounts having changed names. Some are listed as having "issues" (your old name may appear, PSN accounts may be disassociated from game accounts, game settings may be reset), and some are listed as having "critical issues" (you risk to lose news, progress and / or user generated content).

Forty games tested belong to the first category of "problems" – games like Killzone Shadow Fall, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, The Last of Us, Titanfall 2, Warframe and PlayStation VR Worlds . Only 10 games fall into the category of "serious problems": Everybody's Golf, LittleBigPlanet 3, Disc Jam, Just Dance 2017, Onrush, Battlefields of Worms, The Golf Club 2 and MLB The Show 14, 15 and 16.
