Sony Santa Monica Studio celebrates all week the first anniversary of God of War. A free dynamic theme for PS4, downloadable now.

It's been a year since God of War came out, and Sony Santa Monica celebrates the occasion with a beautiful video of thanks and free samples that you can download on your PS4, even if you have not played the game.

"In 2015, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of God of War and launched the saga in 2005," says Shannon Studstill, head of the Santa Monica studio. "And, then, we are thinking about the anniversary of a year of a new era for Kratos, now with his son, Atreus.

"When Cory Barlog introduced us for the first time to this transforming vision of a father and his son embarking on an incredible journey together, a journey to pay homage to a woman and a mother … but also to one where a boy would teach his father to become human again. and the father (Kratos) would teach his son how to become a measured god, we knew we had something special for our fans.

"Yet change is difficult. The change of a longstanding franchise goes hand in hand with an immeasurable doubt, of a studio defining risk and an immense act of faith. Thank you to our entire global team. The Sony PlayStation family and you, the millions of God of War fans around the world who made this big leap with us on a journey we did not expect. We made this trip together. "

The video pays tribute to players and the community surrounding the game, including illustrations, touching stories, and fan-created content.

There are two thank-you gifts for PS4 owners to hope for. You can download the dynamic theme illustrating Kratos and Atreus in Lake Nine now, and on Wednesday, April 17, you can download all the avatars of the character PS4 Anniversary from God of War.

Both will be free in the PSN store and you do not need to own the game to access it.
