(WTNH) – The Stop & Shop employee strike is now in the fourth day.
Many of these workers once again stood in front of their stores holding placards.
They left work Thursday in 92 stores in Connecticut.
The strike was the result of a persistent stalemate between the company and the union representing the employees.
Wages and health care are some of the stumbling blocks.
As a result, many Stop & Shop car parks have been empty.

Some clients refuse to shop there as long as employees are not treated fairly.

Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal said he was telling strikers "that they are not fighting just for themselves, but for families working across America."
The company and the union returned to the negotiating table on Saturday, but no agreement has yet been reached.
In the meantime, Stop & Shop stores are open on a reduced schedule, but only self-testing machines are running, just like pharmacies and banks in the interior.
