Richland County, Ohio – The Cleveland National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado struck on Sunday in the Shelby area, a town in Richland County.

Houses and businesses were damaged and destroyed.

Photos taken by a viewer and sent to 10TV show significant damage to the Chevrolet Rocket dealer Mansfield Avenue.

Rick Evans, acting director of the Richland County Emergency Management Agency, said six homes had been damaged south of the SR-96 on Loss Creek Road between Bucyrus and Shelby.

A photo of Lou Whitmire, a journalist at Mansfield News Journal, shows a lot of damage and other damage to Shelby.

According to the Mansfield News Journal, six people were treated in a hospital for injuries at the time of the storm, but it was unclear whether these injuries were related to the storm.

According to AEP Ohio, more than 1,200 customers are without electricity in the Shelby area as of Sunday night due to the storm.
