A Florida fisherman who was removed from the water Saturday after trying to recover his fishing rod in West Palm Beach died, a report said.

The unnamed fisherman was caught in a surf after jumping into the water near Summa Beach, WPFB reported 25 News. He was pulled to safety within 10 minutes and was rushed to a nearby hospital, according to the report, citing fire officials.
