The talk show host used this popular segment of her day show to discuss the news that she had filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter, who is over 20 years old.
Williams noted that the slogan of his Hot Topics segment – which focuses on celebrities and their private lives – is "Their business is our business."
"It's crazy because now, my business is yours," Williams said. "It's a bit funny … Turnabout is a fair game, I understand."
Williams had filed for divorce in New Jersey last week and had kept a beautiful mother.
"Wendy and her family have been part of Debmar-Mercury for more than 10 years," a spokeswoman for The Wendy Williams Show told CNN in a statement. "We respect their privacy with respect to personal matters and, as always, we remain committed to providing an entertaining and timely program to our viewers."
But she decided to discuss it during Monday's show.
Williams lived in a sober house and opened his battle to maintain sobriety.
She said that she has "a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son," Kevin Jr., 19.
"Believe me, you're in a room without a television or four gray walls all day and no phone at your fingertips," Williams said. "It's my life in this sober house – it's one of the best things that, honestly, could have happened to me."
Williams said a few friends, including two who act as sober coaches, came home last weekend to support her.
"You're wearing a different mask when you're here," she said. "Everyone has things in his life that he is embarrassed to share the world, or who are afraid to share with the world, or who are not ready to share with the world. my addiction, really helped me unravel each and every compartment of my life. "
The talk show host seemed to be sounding as if she were looking towards the future.
"I'm engaging with my son to get out of here stronger, stronger and faster than ever," Williams said.
