The PvE Storm Rising Story Mission for Overwatch is set to launch on April 16th. A trailer traces the theater of conflict. We see the strike team consisting of Tracer, Winston, Mercy and Genji in pursuit of the dangerous criminal Talon, Maximilian. We also get the closest look on Max himself, who suggests that everyone has a price.
In the run-up to the Storm Rising event, Blizzard regularly revealed new cosmetic skins that you can win. Some, like Talon Baptist or Formal 76, are clearly history-inspired outfits, informed by the world's tradition and its characters. Others, like Hammond's High Roller Wrecking Ball or Racer Zarya, seem lighter.
The history of this mission is however anything but light. The Overwatch team was sent to bring Max, notoriously elusive, before he could use the cover of an imminent storm to escape again. The narrative in the new trailer of the story suggests that opportunities to capture him do not appear often, so the team has a chance to succeed. "No pressure, then!" Tracer tweets.
The Overwatch Archives Event Series presents cooperative missions in PvE focusing on historical topics. They often focus on the younger iterations of the characters before Overwatch (the organization, not the game) is forced to dissolve. In addition to Storm Rising, the previous missions Archives Up and Retribution will be playable. The event will take place from April 16th to May 6th.
