The Golden State Warriors are a formidable All-Star center, DeMarcus Cousins, who suffered a tear in the left quad, but will not be sure before an MRI Tuesday, league sources told ESPN.
The best scenario could still be a tense quad, but it was proven that Cousins' contactless injury as a result of a lost ball during the 135-131 loss on Monday night against the The Clippers were serious and late in the season, League sources said.
The cousins missed a full year of play with a torn left Achilles suffered in New Orleans a year ago. He signed a one – year contract with the Warriors, hoping that a healthy return would propel him into the free agent market this summer.
The cousins had shown steady progress and glimpses of his past NBA player background prior to Monday night's injury, but now he could face several months of rehab on the quad.
The injury came when he was 8:30 am in the first quarter after Cousins lost a pass from Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari. While he was trying to continue the pass, Cousins fell to the ground before he could control the ball.
The cousins tried to get up and continue, but once he got up, he immediately called to be removed from the match.
The cousins then returned cautiously to the warriors' locker room with the medical staff of the team.
