I still remember TweakTown servers crashing several times, forcing us to upgrade the hardware inside of them when I broke the first big news of Grand Theft Auto 6 since February 2015.
Well, when I came across Pastebin's article about the new-generation PlayStation 5 and its rumors allegedly GDDR6, AMD-based Zen 2 CPUs and Navi based on 7 nm, there was also some news from Grand Theft Auto 6. The anonymous announcement announced that GTA 6 would be launched as part of the 2020 holiday program (starting in November) and that Sony has paid "a lot of money" to get a PS5 exclusivity of one month.
If Sony had indeed spent a lot of money for an exclusive month of GTA 6 on its next-generation PlayStation 5, that would be quite huge from a marketing point of view. Microsoft will surely have its own timed exclusives on its next generation Xbox console, but if Sony had gotten something as big as the next Grand Theft Auto game … well, that would be crazy.
Back in February 2015, I wrote that Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar Games, said "We have about 45 years of ideas to make. We do not know what GTA 6 will be, but we have some ideas. This comes from the idea of the first. Where will he ask himself is the first question. Then it defines the missions; you do different things in Los Angeles than in New York or Miami. The map and the story are developed together. The story is a basic flow about how it works, allowing you to overlay the missions.".
