RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Russell Wilson remains with the Seattle Seahawks as the highest paid player in the NFL.
Wilson posted a social media video on Tuesday morning saying, "Seattle, we have an agreement," shortly after agreeing with a 140-year, 140-million-dollar extension with the Seahawks, said his agent Mark Rodgers at the Associated Press. Wilson's new deal extends over the 2023 season and includes a $ 65 million signing bonus, a no-trade clause and $ 107 million of guaranteed money.
The annual average of $ 35 million from Wilson exceeds Aaron Rodgers' average annual salary of $ 33.5 million as part of the $ 134 million extension that he signed last year with the Packers of Green Bay.
The current $ 87.6 million four-year agreement signed by Wilson was signed early in the training camp in 2015 and was due to expire after next season.
"The goal of Russell and his hope was to continue his career with the Seahawks and continue to bring championships to this city," said Rodgers. "He thinks there's still work to be done and he's looking forward to continuing in this direction without having to worry about contracts and his future."

Wilson, 30, had set midnight on the hour for a new contract with Seattle. He wanted to be sure of his contract before the start of the offseason training program, which began on Monday. Wilson arrived on the first day and at the end of the night he posted a video with his wife, Ciara, announcing the deal.
The agreement ends the debate over Wilson's future with the Seahawks, though he seemed doubtful whether he would stay in Seattle for a while. The team exerted leverage knowing that she probably had at least three more seasons with Wilson in the center. Even though he was playing 2019 with his current contract, Seattle could have used the franchise tag as needed to keep it under contract until 2020 and 2021 at a reasonable price, by the standards of the quarterback.
But the extension allows Seattle to build a budget for the future by knowing how to work with Wilson's heavy paycheck in the coming years and create a suitor around the former third-round pick that has become a fixture. QB franchise.
Wilson's new contract was to complete the extension signed by Rodgers before the start of last season. Wilson was the second-best-paid football player behind Rodgers when signing his contract in 2015, but had dropped to the 12th quarter in the highest paid league, according to Overthecap.com.
The five Pro Bowl selections are probably starting their best season as Seattle got a surprising 10-6 win and won an NFC wild card before losing to Dallas in the first round of the playoffs. It was supposed to be a rebuilding year, but the Seahawks were ahead of their schedule with their return to the first race and Wilson's outstanding performance when they were in charge.
Wilson, who is 5-foot-11, made 35 touchdowns and reached the height of his career by leveling seven interceptions. He tried only 427 assists – his lowest total since his second season when Seattle won the Super Bowl – but his efficiency was better with a score of 110.9 for smugglers. He also ran just 67 times, his lowest level in career, as improved line-up and offensive online play allowed Wilson to stay in his pocket and fight for his life.
That was a dramatic change from the 2017 season when Seattle had missed the series for the first time under Wilson's orders. He led the league in touchdown passes, but was also Seattle's best forward because of a nonexistent draw.
The idea of Wilson leaving Seattle has always seemed to go a bit far. The teams simply do not give up the shifts with the kind of success they have had. Wilson led the Seahawks in the playoffs in six of his seven seasons, the only missed opportunity in 2017 when Seattle finished 9-7. He won a Super Bowl in his second season and resumed the championship game a year later before committing the only major mistake of his career that will await him until he wins a another title, throwing an interception of the goal line at the last minute when the Seahawks get a chance to take the lead in New England.
Wilson has put aside the fact that quarterbacks can not play in the NFL. He was also extremely resilient, never missing a match while suffering serious knee, ankle and shoulder injuries.
