Sony has announced the PlayStation 5 – or, to be more precise, its "new generation console". An exclusive article published today by Wired reveals complex secrets about what society has cooked – and gives us a much better idea of what to expect. In short, it is super powerful, already in the hands of developers, compatible with earlier versions and is again designed by Mark Cerny of the PlayStation 4.
To confirm: this is not an exercise.
According to the system architect, the new device is designed to provide "fundamental changes in what a game can be". It will be compatible with the current PlayStation VR headset, but it seems likely that the holder of the platform will also make a new one. Cerny took the time to explain how the new material will enhance audio by processing 3D sound.
We will have many more things on the PS5 throughout the day, so stay tuned on the site. In the meantime, read this article from Wired.
