Mr. Bond, your car is here.
Aston Martin unveiled its first electric model, the Fast E.
The sedan that will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show is expected to feature in the next edition of the "007" film franchise starring Daniel Craig.
The limited edition model was created with the help of Williams Advanced Engineering, who is actively involved in the Formula E racing series alongside Formula 1.
This is not a ground car, but a modernization of a conventional V12 engine model, featuring a carbon fiber power controller and protected from the Kevlar and battery occupying the aircraft. Where the engine, the transmission and the fuel tank are usually located.
Two electric motors driving the rear wheels draw their power and have a combined power of 604 horsepower and a torque of 700 lb-ft, both higher than those of the gasoline version.
The battery has a relatively low capacity of 65 kilowatt hours and a range of less than 200 km per charge in the United States, while Tesla's best-performing models have kits of 100 kW and more than 300 km. However, the Rapide E is compatible with 800V fast charging systems, which can charge packets at speeds up to 310 km / hr per hour.
Aston Martin said the E Fast would be able to accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds. a bugaboo for high-performance electric cars.
The exact prices are only revealed to legitimate customers interested in purchasing any of the 155 specimens that will be built, but the rumor is around 300,000 USD.
