AROUND THE WEB:

– A customer at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa is suing the Jupiter Police and the Palm Beach County State Attorney for violation of his civil rights.

Unlike Robert Kraft, this customer, called John Doe, did not engage in sexual activity and only received a massage.

"Defendants violated Mr. Doe's constitutional rights on or around January 19, 2019, by spying on him while he was in a private room in a private setting, "Doe's complaint says.

On January 18, 2019, the Jupiter Police caused a false 'suspicious package' to be issued for the Spa. Having visited the spa, the Jupiter Police entered and installed video monitoring equipment in which clients received massages, and then went to the hotel. after the cameras were installed.

"Mr. Doe did not engage in any sexual or illegal activity at any time while receiving his massage at the Spa, "the complaint says.

Doe argues he had a reasonable expectation of privacy while he was getting undressed for his massage and, despite this, "Jupiter Police shared these recordings with other individuals and organizations pursuing or in parallel with" the investigation.

He is concerned about the potential release of the video footage from inside the spa and further violation of his privacy.

Doe is seeking an unspecified monetary damages and an injunction prohibiting the police and prosecutors of showing "any and all video, audio, photographic, or other recordings, or any images or other records derived from or based on recordings, made inside the Spa," and ordering all such material destroyed.

– A Vermont woman is being accused of kicking and biting as she is being removed from the TD Garden during the Bruins game on Saturday night.

Stephanie Lavoie is facing charges of assault and battery on EMS personal, disorderly conduct, assault and battery, resisting arrest and six counts of assault and battery on a police officer in Boston Municipal Court charges.

Security was escorting Lavoie and a man from the Garden when Lavoie became violent. The man left without incident.

"When they tried to remove the female boss, they were put with violent resistance," police said. "The female began screaming at officers, threw herself to the ground and refused to leave the premise."

Lavoie was one of the officers and would be arrested for assault.

"At this time, the female, still on the ground, is trying to get rid of the hands of her body while lying on her purse," said police. "The female kicked at the officers and spit on them before one of the officers on the arm. Eventually, the female is placed in handcuffs and escorted to an elevator in an attempt to avoid the stairs, due to her violent nature.

After the police have been working on the police, they have been detained by police, Boston EMS and TD Garden security.

"While on the stretcher, the female kicked the EMTs and spit on a staff member," said police. "Officers placed on a spit hood on the female and transported her to the district station where she refused booking after throwing a cup of water on the booking officer."
