The first part of downloadable content for Assassin's Creed Odyssey had quite decent missions, but did not really justify the entire Ubisoft season pass. The second half – The Fate Of Atlantis – seems to be a sequel far more interesting adventure. Launched next week, April 23, it reminds me a lot of the second expansion of the underworld for AC: Origins. It seems that Atlantis is little more than a simple Greek real estate fund, with some brilliant details: it may just be a portal to the realm of the gods. The fate of Atlantis seems to follow very closely the steps of the excellent development of Curse Of The Pharaoh of Orins, allowing players to get into life after the death of Greece. There are gods to meet, monsters to kill, and I have the feeling that this is perhaps a kind of massive holodeck simulation in the bowels of Atlantis. There will be great new environments to explore, starting with Elysium, and new skills to learn in this strange new realm, named after the gods of the earth. Ares Bull Charge, Might Of Artemis and Kronos Time Warp look like new fun toys.
It seems that the new expansion will take some time to reach, requiring a character level 28 or higher and completing the end-of-story quests between Two Worlds and Heir Of Memories. Nevertheless, as for its equivalent of Origins, it will be possible to move directly to The Fate Of Atlantis with a pre-equipped level 52 character, but you will probably be very lost, at the level of the story. I must admit that I am looking forward to returning to the game and seeing what they can do with the training wheels removed. Historical Greece is very good, but the myth without taboo is much more exciting.
The first episode, Fields Of Elysium, will be launched Tuesday, April 23, next week. The two remaining episodes, Torment of Hades and Judgment of Atlantis, will be launched by mid-2019. It will be available as part of the game's season pass at £ 34 / € 40 / $ 40 (which includes Legacy Of The First Blade, Assassin 's Creed 3 Remastered and Fate Of Atlantis) or sold separately at launch.
