This is a brand new football match for GENNADY "GGG" GOLOVKIN, the star attraction of boxing, pound for pound! Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs), from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, returns for the first time in over two years to his big drama show at the "Boxing Mecca" – Madison Square Garden in his long-awaited debut from DAZN on Saturday, June 8th.

Golovkin, whose resume includes a record 20 consecutive title defenses (18 in the round of 16) for middleweights, has regularly drawn crowds to the previous five editions of The Garden that he has been presenting to The Garden magazine since 2013. He will play with the unbeaten Top 10. STEVE ROLLS (19-0, 10 KOs), of Toronto, Canada, a former Kronk Gym contender, took part in a 12-round battle weighing a maximum of 164 pounds. Golovkin vs. Rolls is kick-off to the exclusive three-year global partnership in six fights between GGG Promotions and DAZN, the fastest-growing sports streaming platform in the world.

A press visit to two cities, featuring both fighters, will take place next week. It will begin at Madison Square Garden on Monday, April 22, and end in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 23. The details of these events will be announced shortly.

Promoted by GGG Promotions, in association with DiBella Entertainment, tickets for the Battle of Big Apple between Golovkin and Rolls are on sale this Saturday, April 20 at noon ET. Priced at $ 750, $ 500, $ 300, $ 200, $ 100 and $ 50, excluding fees, you can buy your tickets at the Madison Square Garden box office, at any Ticketmaster point of sale, by Ticketmaster at phone (866-858-0008) and online at www.ticketmaster.com and www.msg.com.

This will be the second of two major boxing events organized by The Garden on consecutive boxing weekends, both being exclusively live on DAZN. Englishman Anthony Joshua will make his debut in the US and Madison Square Garden in defense of his unified heavyweight title against Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller on June 1, just one week before Golovkin's highly anticipated return on the 8 June.

Golovkin, 37, has reigned supreme in the middleweight division for nearly a decade. Eighteen of his 20 title defenses have been knocked out by KO – a 90% ratio – which should remain the division's highest percentage for a world champion. Golovkin's tenure as champion came to an end when he lost a hotly contested majority decision during a rematch against Canelo Alvarez last September. A leading amateur champion and Olympic silver medalist before becoming a professional in 2006, Golovkin's career has been on a historic trajectory, including a series of 23 wins per game and unifying world middleweight titles, WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO. Golovkin also proved that he was at the box office. He has sold all the world's most iconic arenas, including Madison Square Garden, T-Mobile Arena, O2 Arena, Fabulous Forum and StubHub Center.

Rolls, 35, making his debut in the garden, will turn to Golovkin with his version of a Canadian cold front. In his last fight, he won the vacant USBA middleweight title last December, by unanimous decision, against KeAndrae Leatherwood. Ranked # 9 in the world by the IBF, Rolls has stopped four of his last seven opponents while maintaining his perfect record.
