LITTLETON, Colorado – Authorities announced Tuesday that they were looking for an 18-year-old woman suspected of threatening Columbine High School a few days before the 20th anniversary of a shooting that killed 13 people.
The information prompted a high school lockdown and several others outside of Denver. All the students were safe, said the school officials.
Sol Pais went to Colorado on Monday night and made threats against schools, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI announced. The officials did not provide more details about the threats or where it came from.
Pais was last seen in the foothills to the west of Denver. He was considered armed and extremely dangerous and should not be approached.
The doors were locked in Columbine and in over 20 other schools in the Denver area, the sheriff's office said it was investigating threats against schools related to an FBI investigation.
The students left classes at the time, but extracurricular activities were canceled in Columbine, Littleton, Colorado.
Armed teenagers attacked Columbine on April 20, 1999, killing 12 classmates and a teacher.
