The Pixel 3 camera can now detect kisses for photos with your boo

Available in the latest update from the Google Camera app for the Pixel 3, Photobooth is a new feature that uses artificial intelligence to recognize kisses, clear faces and open eyes to automatically take a picture. With the update, you can simply smile and pose in front of the selfie camera without having to press the shutter button.

Known for its excellent camera, the Pixel 3 (and its larger counterpart, the Pixel 3 XL) are Google's flagship phones for 2018. While other competitors are using several rear cameras to improve photo quality, the Pixel 3 only has a rear camera, but it uses an impressive software optimization, called digital photography, to capture breathtaking photos. Photobooth is optimized specifically for the two front-facing cameras on the phone and adds another artificial intelligence component under the Pixel 3's belt.

Google engineers have formed Photobooth to recognize five types of facial expressions, namely "smile, language-driven tongue, face of the kiss / duck, puffy cheeks and surprise," said Google in a blog. (Look forward, single, you can still use Photobooth with only duck face expression.) As expressions change, Photobooth displays a dynamic white line that expands as the content of the photo "s" improves ". You can see the line move in the camera application and adjust accordingly to trigger the shutter.

In addition to Photobooth, the Pixel 3 has other great features that use algorithms to take better pictures. Top Shot also recognizes good, clear expressions suggesting the "best" photo from a series of burst shots. The low light mode of the camera, called Night view, illuminates dimly lit scenes without flash.
