Gears 5 is expected to be one of the most important novelties of Microsoft for 2019, and the game's multiplayer mode will be unveiled in June during a brand new eSports TV show. Microsoft has announced a partnership with Eleague for the Eleague Gears summer series: Obligations and betrayals of the fraternity. An "event series" in six parts that also offers a game in live tournament. The show will focus on the professional players of Gears.

The show will debut Friday, June 14 at 11 pm ET on TBS. This will be the world premiere of Gears 5 versus the multiplayer mode, and people will face up to the final, called The Invitational. Eight players from around the world will compete for the title. The finale will be broadcast live on Twitch and via the streaming service on July 13th and 14th.

"The bonds and betrayals of the fraternity will offer an unprecedented look at the exciting world of Gears Esports from the perspective of six of the best-known professional players. In the six episodes, the series will explore the intense bond that unites each player in the game as they navigate the transition between Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, balancing the untapped potential of new opportunities with the fallout of past decisions, "said Microsoft.

Eleague is the electronic sports organization run by Turner Broadcasting and WME / IMG. The organization has already organized other tournaments in the past for titles such as Counter-Strike, Overwatch, Black Ops 4, Street Fighter V, Rocket League and many others.

During Inside Xbox, Rod Fergusson also said that the Coalition was working on many projects related to Gears and had indicated that the game Gears Tactics, announced at the E3 2018, would also be presented soon. He did, however, stop saying exactly when.

Gears 5 will be launched on Xbox One and PC later this year. Given that this multiplayer revelation occurs after E3, it seems that Microsoft could focus on the single-player mode of the game, which will feature Kait Diaz in the lead role.
