The new Fortnite leaks reveal the details of the upcoming Loot Lake event

Another Fortnite patch means more leaks have happened. A brand new event is heading to Fortnite in the near future.

Each Fortnite fix brings new files that leaks and data mining must analyze. The new v8.40 update is no exception to the rule and contains a plethora of revealed challenges, potential locations, audio files, and clues to an event.

Let's see what the community has discovered so far.

New events "snow" and "escape" coming soon

A new event is heading to Fortnite sometime in the near future probably. The working name for the mode in the game files is "Snow". It is deliberately generic to prevent minors from feeling its smell, but they still found it.

We think that both event files actually refer to the same event, although they can be separated.

Wellnite Data Miner and Well-known Leak @ Hypex set up a long sound file for the "Snow" event.

While the event is called 'Snow', other audio files point to another event name, possibly based on the new Loot Lake bunker / vault.

These files are marked "Leaky" and probably refer to the cracking of the vault and the publication of Kevin the Cube. It could mean corrupted areas, Shadow Stones, and so on.

We suggest you listen every second of these sound files. It's mostly ambient sound that seems out of place, but that blends with the audio of the game at the exit.

Kevin the Cube returns?

Well, from these leaks, we are starting to speculate a bit about what will happen to Fortnite in the coming weeks.

The giant bunker or vault that was discovered under Loot Lake will probably be the focus of the next event. We know that Kevin the Cube was confined and locked inside the room.

Pirates will crack the vault, search for loot, and accidentally release the Cube to the world. Thus begins the second terrible reign of the Cube. Or we think.

We think this could bring back elements from the cube era. These included corrupted areas, shadow stones, and the shadow shape movement that accompanies them.

Do not forget that all this is only speculation and that leaks could be scrapped / modified plans before publication. We will have to wait patiently for what will happen, but we are really excited. Fortnite could really use a mass event right now.
