The WWE Superstar Shakeup is over. For two days, the Raw and Smackdown programs changed the game by exchanging superstars between the two shows – and trapping NXT wrestlers. On Monday, Raw received a lot of new stars, reinforced their division and gave a tour de force to War Raiders.
The chaos continued Tuesday night with Smackdown, while the blue mark saw 12 superstars heading for the show, with the biggest names being Roman Reigns, Finn Balor and NXT's call, Kairi Sane. While the night was aimed solely at creating a "shakeup" for the list, there were some entertaining moments throughout the evening. Here is everything you need to know about what happened at Smackdown.
Finn Balor
The first person to head for the blue mark is none other than Finn Balor, a man lost in trouble on Raw. Is there a rule that Balor and AJ Styles can not be on the same brand at the same time? Are we not allowed to see the leaders of the Bullet Club in a rivalry? Whatever it is, with Balor comes the intercontinental championship. So, Smackdown will have the US and Intercontinental Championships, which is a bit strange. Maybe we'll have at least one Club Balor meeting with the Good Brothers, though.
Kevin Owens + New Day = The best
New Day is in their place, they should be on Smackdown: the main event. They open the show, they walk in the middle and close things. Yes, it takes a lot of time on the screen, but it's no different from any other WWE champion. Adding Kevin Owens to the mix this week was a lot of fun. Nothing huge came out, but it was a delight.
Where is Tyler Breeze?
It's rather a complaint from me, but what's going on with Tyler Breeze? I really thought it would come back to Smackdown, especially after Xavier Woods had said live on TV: "If I do not see Tyler Breeze at Smackdown before the end of the show, I'll lose my head." Woods has already mentioned this a few times on Twitter. If you look Up Up Down Down, then you know that they are two friends and if you watched WWE programming, then you know that Breeze is exceptionally good in the ring and the microphone. What is going on?
Lars Sullivan?
Wait … I thought it was Raw. What is going on? Later in the program, it was announced that Sullivan was now at Smackdown. Had not he been announced yesterday as a member of Raw? Does the WWE edit something already 24 hours ago? It does not make sense.
The segment of superimposed women
During a Becky Lynch promotion, Ember Moon and Bayley interrupted and announced that they had switched to the blue mark. Moon is a fantastic addition to the lineup and will bring a lot to the women's lineup. The Iiconics broke up and talked about their league titles. Then, continuing with the giant reshuffle, Paige interrupted the break to present the challengers for the women's team championships – which were also interrupted by Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Whatever it is, the new team on the block is Asuka and pirate princess Kairi Sane. The women 's division of Smackdown looks stacked. I can not wait to see Sane drop that elbow to everyone.
The destruction continues from 205 Live
It's no secret, the ranks of 205 Live are getting thinner after [Mustafa] Ali joined Smackdown a few months ago and Cedric Alexander moved to Raw on Monday. Now, Buddy Murphy is heading for Smackdown. You're probably more than familiar with the former Cruiserweight Champion, as he regularly ran a clinic for PPV Kickoff shows, defending his title. It's an added bonus for Smackdown, even though the main WWE formations are overcrowded.
Vince's big announcement
Vince McMahon came to announce his grand acquisition, and that is Elias. However, it was not everything. Roman Reigns came out, beat Elias and McMahon and announced that he was part of Smackdown. With the Tuesday night show that will finally be in Fox, it's a great choice for the weekly series, and they'll need a big name to attract viewers.
