Hearn: Luis Ortiz was the first name Anthony Joshua gave me

Anthony Joshua's first fight in the United States could be in doubt after his promoter confirmed that Jarrell Miller had failed a doping control.

Eddie Hearn said in an article on Twitter that the anti-doping voluntary association had informed Joshua's camp that a sample taken from Miller on March 20 had revealed an unfavorable finding.

Hearn said "we are working with all parties involved and will keep up with it in more detail soon".

Salita Promotions, who represents Miller, said Wednesday has more and more information on the discovery of VADA and "will have more to say about this developing situation soon."

Joshua, who owns the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts, faces Miller on June 1 at Madison Square Garden.

During the fight promotion tour, Miller said the two fighters had agreed to a drug test 10 to 12 weeks before the fight.

When Hearn informed Joshua of the situation with Miller, he declared that the unified champion name, Luis Ortiz, was the first name his boxer had asked.

"[Ortiz] was the name that he gave me last night. I called him and I just told him, "Buddy, I have terrible news, Miller failed a drug test." He did not even seem so surprised. He said, "OK, who's next?", I asked who he wanted and he said absolutely to everyone, no problem, Hearn told IFL TV.

Due to the number of tickets sold and 10,000 British viewers heading to the map, there is no discussion about a new date.

"We have not talked about a new date, we have sold 17,000 tickets with 10,000 British leaving, so we will deliver," said Hearn.

According to Hearn, there are several possible replacements and they would like it to be Ortiz.

"I love this fight, it's an ideal scenario," Hearn said. "It's a big fight, I feel that their team will not be ready."
