Carl's Jr. is looking to take National Weed Day to a higher level.

On Wednesday, the fast food company will have a special hamburger featuring a CBD sauce on Saturday, April 20 and in a single Denver facility.

"The new Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight is part of our fundamental strategy: to be the first to offer bold and unexpected flavors to a fast-food menu that are at the cutting edge of restaurant trends," said Patty Trevino, vice- President of Carl & # 39; s Jr. brand marketing chairman, in a statement.

The burger contains two beef patties accompanied by Carl & # 39; s Jr. signature Santa Fe sauce, infused with hemp-based CBD oil, marinated jalapeƱos, pepper cheese and Crisscut fries.

CBD chain of pharmacies: Rite Aid is part of the growing trend and will test products in two states

The CBD oil used in the sauce comes from Bluebird Botanicals, based in Colorado, announced the fast food chain.

CBD, a cannabidiol derived from hemp, is a non-psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.

Unlike marijuana, another cannabis species, hemp contains virtually none of the psychoactive compounds that cause excessive consumption.

The Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight will be available for $ 4.20 at Carl's Jr. located at 4050 Colorado Blvd. in Denver, from 6 am until the store closes on April 20, while stocks last.

Trevino said the company was "delighted to be the first fast-food restaurant to test CBD-infused options".

The CBD has become more and more common in recent months. Last week, Rite Aid announced that it would join CVS and Walgreens to drive the sale of topical CBD creams.
