The Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes had to fight once again in the fourth game of this Eastern Conference first round playoff game. Canes, booming and suffocating, blew up the Raleigh Caps on Monday night and seemed to want to do the same thing on Thursday night.
Warren Foegele stayed warm and scored again for Carolina just 17 seconds into the first period. Alex Ovechkin created the tie before Teuvo Teravainen responded with a grueling goal late in the second period.
The series is now tied at two games each as we return to DC for the fifth game.
Hurricanes beat Caps 2-1.
- The Caps were scored 17 seconds after the start of the match. This is probably the worst scenario. Many people on Twitter thought that the Caps controlled the game after Canes' goal. I am not one of those people. Petr Mrazek stopped Brett Connolly from the high slot, but that was just about everything. You can control the puck whatever you want, this creates opportunities to score goals that are the hardest part.
- I still do not understand why Alex Ovechkin was turned into a villain for winning a fight between two consenting adults who fully respected the constraints of NHL hockey.
- I am really tired of Warren Foegele mark each match, mainly because I have to copy and paste his last name on Twitter because what kind of orthographic disorder is this.
- I miss it Michal Kempny and everything that happened in 2017-18 Evgeny Kuznetsov. Can we put it on milk cartons?

- What, in my eyes, was a regular period mixed with a successful power play of the Capitals, was completely ruined by the Carolina score with less than 30 seconds to play. This simply can not happen and it was the turning point of this game and potentially the series.
- Just look Brooks Orpik on this goal. Just watch it. Time for greener pastures.
- Nino Niederreiter is one of the most underrated players in the league and is perfect for this Carolina team. Superb collection of the CEO of Canes Don Waddell.
- Petr Mrazek is to have a series of escape. Brick wall.

- The caps were nil in the third. Their defenders passed the puck to the other team rather than to their own team.
- It was a five-minute major and the referees gave them just two minutes. Let's hope that TJ is fine, that it does not look good.
- Valiant effort to tie it in the end. I suppose.
- I miss you, DSP.

Return to DC in what must be a must win Caps in the fifth game. The saying goes that a team is never really in trouble in a playoff series before losing at home.
