The two referees at the center of the controversial Game 7 call between the Vegas Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday will not be official in the second round, according to scoutingtherefs.com and ESPN.
Dan O Halloran and Eric Furlatt are missing after spending 5 minutes ahead of Cody Eakin of the Knights, while there was still 10:47 in the third period after a check of Sharks captain Joe Pavelski. Neither team reported a penalty until Pavelski, who fell and bleeds on the ice, is treated. They then regrouped and inflicted party punishment and misconduct on Eakin.
The Sharks scored four times in the penalty, going from a 3-0 deficit to a 5-4 overtime victory.
