SportsPulse: Trysta Krick on how the Washington Redskins and New York Giants had very different nights, not just because of Daniel Jones' choice.
USA TODAY Sports

The first round of the NFL 2019 draft has been completed. Who won and who lost at the opening night of the League's annual "Player Selection Meeting"? Read on for some instinctive reactions …

winners

Nashville: More than 200,000 people took part in the festivities, about 10% of the population of the metropolitan area, as the league turned Music City's downtown into a football festival that continued despite some rain. Maybe the NFL needs to take this city more seriously for an even bigger event earlier in the calendar …

Kyler Murray: First man to be caught in the first round of drafts of the NFL and Major League Baseball, he probably lands with the perfect team and the perfect coach with the Air Raid enthusiast, Kliff Kingsbury , now in command of the Cardinals. It should be really fun to watch what Murray can do considering what seems to be the ideal solution for his abilities.

Drama: Everyone knew that Murray ranked No. 1 overall … obviously … no? Congratulations to the Cardinals for giving the second player time to guess the alternative stories by taking every 15 minutes allocated before making the choice official.

MOST QUESTIONABLE PICKS: Gary Rashan is a risk for packers

Most of the most interesting moves: The Steelers are distinguished by the trade

John Schneider: Just days ago, the Seattle general manager had four league picks. After shipping DE Frank Clark, labeled franchise, to Kansas City, then taking care of the chart Thursday night, the Seahawks have now new selections – and we know they are doing some of their best work in the middle.

Mike Mayock: Raids-GM's decision to remove Clemson's Clelin Ferrell player at No. 4 has not been sold out completely, but he is undoubtedly a good player and a good character. Josh Jacobs and Johnathan Abram, who had disembarked later that evening, felt like they were going to Oakland.

Rashan Gary Sweatshirt and Montez: The medical concerns were really about these two talented pass holders, even after both had great scouting performances. Neither of them got the top 10 status that they could have deserved, but it's good to see both of them calling each other on the evening of the evening. # 39; opening.

The bosas: Like the Mannings, NFL royalties, if they exist, now have two brothers (Nick and Joey) who join the father (John) as a first-round pick.

Kyle Long: Congratulations to the Bears lineman for the way he expressed his dissatisfaction at not being part of the Manning-Bosa club by hiding his father, Howie, a member of the Hall of Fame.

Josh Allen: Seventh overall in 2018. Seventh overall in 2019. We know who will be seventh in 2020, but we do not know which team will get Josh Allen 3.0.

Linemen: More than half of the men chosen in the first round (19) live in the trenches. We thought it was a passing league! (Of course, difficult to succeed if your quarterback is not protected … which is of course the point of prioritizing all these smugglers and bodyguards).

Christian Wilkins: Over the years, many players wanted to take revenge and sack Roger Goodell. Obviously, you were having fun, Christian, but it's fair to assume that many of your new peers lived vicariously through you a bit.

Oklahoma: The first school to have quarterbacks (Baker Mayfield and Murray) ranks No. 1 in the overall standings in consecutive draft. The Sooners also equaled USC for the greatest number of No. 1 (5) choices in preliminary history.

Clemson First school to place three defensive linemen (Ferrell, Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence) in the first round of the same repechage.

Big Ten:Dwayne Haskins of the state of Ohio became the first quarterback of the conference to participate in the first round since Kerry Collins of Penn State in 1995.

ABC: They enter the preliminary cover game and Tay Tay blocks the party? Winners.

Matt Ryan: The repechage of two relatively unknown blockers (Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary) may not move the needles a lot in Atlanta, but that should help the 2016 MVP sleep better (and play).

Marcus Mariota: Fun to see the quarterback Titans, very discreet, trying unnecessarily to bring home the booed by the sound of Goodell as the project begins.

Browns: They have not made a choice, so how can they be winners? Because they cashed their 17th overall pick for Odell Beckham Jr. Worth it. Probably well worth it.

losers

saints: They did not choose, so how can they be losers? Because they exchanged two selections from the first round, including this year, in 2018 to get DE Marcus Davenport. Coach Sean Payton insists that Davenport "is going to be a dominant player for us," but he has not had any impact as a rookie and has not played in defeat in the NFC championship game in New Orleans. And that is not going to be much better – the Saints are scheduled for the second round but will remain dormant until the fifth round.

Josh Rosen: Literally lost in the desert. Arizona's first round pick in 2018 set a record sort by watching his successor, Murray, taken a year later. And since the Cardinals could not or did not want to deal with Rosen, the outlook is even gloomier as guys like Daniel Jones and Haskins hold positions at QB that he may have been busy at some point.

Marcus Mariota: By entering a contract year, he would have probably preferred to see the Titans pick a playmaker to help him rather than a D-lineman (Jeffery Simmons) who might have to redshirt in 2019 during the re-education of a tear of the LCA.

The Joker: Sorry, man, apparently, Murray attacked your closet right under Batman's nose.

RG3:Way to do it about you …

Perimeter players: The focus on pork mollies has not left much spotlight on the fast guys who catch the passes or break them. Only two doubles (Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Neal Keal Harry) and a corner (Deandre Baker) were chosen Thursday, none of the first 24 selections.

N.W.O .: Ole Miss "Nasty Wideouts," A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf, win on Instagram, but have not heard his phone ring with the call on Thursday. The eight-pack abs will only take you so far.

Drew Lock: At one point, the Mizzou quarterback, armed with a rifle, seemed to be a first-round lock. Alas …

Pac-12: For the first time in the era of joint projects, which began in 1967, no actor of the conference was selected among the top 20.

Texans: You jumped and lost on the Washington State LT Andre Dillard to Philly. Now, will Houston be wishing to be heavily armed to take Tytus Howard from the state of Alabama with the next selection?

Dave Gettleman: The Giants ended up with three picks in the first round and won Duke QB Jones, Lawrence and Baker. Sorry, Dave, but the world goes around in circles when the New York market greets the Jets at the time of the repechage and tears Big Blue. (Of course, history has the means to change its completely formed opinion five seconds after the announcement of the choices.) For the record, it's as if the giants had blown it up.

Tom Brady: You are probably excited by the arrival of Harry. But while you smothered your avocado ice cream, three hungry defensive linemen (Quinnen Williams of the Jets, Ed Oliver of Bills and Wilkins of Miami) grabbed the AFC East postal code. Looks like you're fighting more than Time this season, Tommy.
