This month, a surprise Wired interview was dropped when PlayStation architect Mark Cerny revealed detailed information about the PS5.

The PS5 will be backward compatible with the PS4, will be capable of 8K visuals and will support ray tracing which is used in stunning Hollywood special effects.

Despite the high specifications of the PS5, Cerny hinted that the new PlayStation would be launched at an "attractive" price for players.

Analysts had so far forecast that the PS5 would cost $ 499 (£ 386), based on the specifications mentioned.

But one analyst predicted that the PS5's specifications indicate that it will be launched at a much more attractive price of $ 399 (£ 309).

Pelham Smithers is the Managing Director of Pelham Smithers Associates, a market research company specializing in manufacturing in Japan.

After what Cerny said, the PS5 would require a 7-core, 8-core Ryzen processor that supports ray tracing and runs on the AMD Navi 20 graphics processor.

According to Smithers, this suggests that Sony is working with the AMD Ryzen 3600G processor which is expected to cost between $ 180 and $ 220 by the second half of 2019.

Speaking to Wired, the analyst said it would be the perfect amount for launching the console at $ 399.

Smithers said, "We believe that Sony wants to stand out from the rest of the video game world and become the IMAX of the industry.

"Although Microsoft can match Sony on hardware – the PS5 will only use commercially available components – Sony is ahead of the graphics processing."

Smithers also said that the PS5's ability to support 8K and raytracing could depend on Sony's software.

The analyst explained, "This is important because the more Sony uses its IP address to improve the performance of its hardware, the more clear water there is between the" PS5 "and the" Xbox Two ".

The release date of the PS5 has not yet been revealed, but Cerny said that the new PlayStation would not be available this year.

While Wall Street Journal technical journalist Takashi Mochizuki in a tweet Sony told reporters during a Q & A session that the PS5 will not be launched in the next 12 months.

This could mean that the PS5 could have a release date of the summer of 2020 or be released in the last quarter of next year.

It has been widely predicted that Microsoft's new Xbox could also be launched in 2020. Next year, the next generation should finally arrive.

Sony will look to continue its shape in this generation in the next generation.

The PS4 is the best selling console of this generation and is close to the marker of 100 million consoles sold.

If that succeeds, the PS4 could become the second best-selling PlayStation of all time, just after the PS2.

The PS2 is the most powerful console of all time, selling nearly 160 million units in its lifetime.
