Attorney General of New York investigates ANR when Oliver North leaves his position as president

The New York Attorney General's office is investigating financial and disclosure issues at the National Rifle Association in the storm of the group that led Saturday to the departure of NRA President Oliver North after a deadly internal political battle.

The investigation relates to allegations of financial misconduct of the kind that Mr. North raised during internal battles. A spokeswoman for the Attorney General, Letitia James, confirmed the investigation and indicated that subpoenas had been issued without making any further comments.
