April 26 (Reuters) – Intel Corp is exploring new strategic options for its modem chip business, including a potential sale to Apple or another buyer, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people close to the case.
Intel has decided to leave the 5G modem chip business last week, a few hours after settling a dispute between Apple and Qualcomm Inc., a key supplier of iPhone modem chips.

Apple, Intel and Goldman Sachs have refused a request for comment from Reuters.
Apple's shares closed at $ 204.3, down 0.53%.
Intel's shares, which had lost as much as 11 percent on Friday afternoon after cutting their revenue outlook for the year yesterday, reduced their losses to $ 52.43, down about 9 percent.
