Nationalists disrupt the bookstore D.C by chanting "This earth is our land"

A group of so-called self-proclaimed nationalists interrupted an event Saturday in a Washington DC bookstore with the author of a book titled "Dying Whiteness: How the Politics of Racial Resentment kills the heart of the world." The popular bookshop, Politics and Prose, organized an event on the day of the independent bookstore with its author Jonathan Metzl, also a professor of sociology and psychiatry at Vanderbilt University. The group of about ten protesters used a megaphone to interrupt Metzl while he was talking.

"You would like the white working class to swap their homeland for charity," said a protester. "But we, as nationalists and identities, can offer the workers of this country, a homeland, our birthright, in addition to health care, good jobs, etc."

Identity is a far-right group born in Europe under the name Evropa, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The group left off chanting "AIM", which seemed to be a reference to the American Identity Movement, the renowned name of Identity Evropa.

The participants booed the protesters and Metzl said leaving the place "let's take a minute here … what has happened?"

Bradley Graham, co-owner of Politics and Prose, told WBSA-9 subsidiary of CBS Washington, D.C. that it was "a brief but unfortunate interruption".

Graham told WUSA-9 that the store was not warned of the interruption.
