The Steelers traded in the first round of the repechage to choose linebacker Devin Bush. They have now given Bush a job by cutting the player for whom he was appointed.

Linebacker Jon Bostic, who started 14 games and played 54% of the Steelers defensive catch last season, was released.

The Steelers have made the modernization of the linebacker a priority this season, not only by writing Bush, but also by signing Mark Barron. The other starting second of last season, Vince Williams, will be back this season.

Bostic, 27, becomes a free agent and will surely have offers for a training camp position, but he is unlikely to be a starter elsewhere.
