Marvel Avengers: Box Office Endgame breaks the American record

[ad_1]

Avengers: Endgame is now in theaters. It's a much larger-than-average movie, even by Marvel standards, because it's about completing a story that's been going on for a decade and more than 20 movies. It did not take much effort to imagine a box office performance, and early projections suggested that he could break records. Although he still has the weekend to go, the first screenings Thursday in the United States have already helped to break a record.

Deadline reports that the film's screenings Thursday night earned $ 60 million, reversing the record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens to $ 57 million. For the purposes of tabulation, Thursday nights are counted in Friday box office receipts, which, according to industry estimates, could be around 130-140 million dollars. If that were the case, it would beat Friday's record, also set by Force Awakens at $ 119 million.

Meanwhile, the film breaks records in other markets as well. THR reports that its gross turnover abroad since two days since it opened on Wednesday is $ 305 million, which includes much of China. This brings the global total to $ 365 million before the start of the weekend.

And there may be more beaten records to come. Industry observers believe total national box office sales could exceed $ 300 million. Even getting close to this point would be enough to break the opening weekend record set by Avengers: Infinity War, which brought in just over $ 257 million.

We have known for a long time that the Avengers have a good chance of breaking records. According to preliminary estimates, the opening weekend would be between $ 200 and $ 250, which would have missed the Infinity War record. But even these estimates were reminded that Infinity War's own estimates put it between $ 180 and $ 225 million, which easily passed them.

Then we learned that the pre-sales of tickets already exceeded several other blockbusters. combined. The estimated deadline earlier this week that Endgame could break opening weekend records, and that seems to be happening.

It also remains to be seen if Endgame will reach or exceed Infinity War in terms of global total sales of just over $ 2 billion. Even if he does, it will take much more to bring down the current champion of global total sales: Avatar, with $ 2.78 billion.
