Neiman Gracie Calls "Bullsh * t" on Rory MacDonald's Doubt

SAN JOSE, California. – Neiman Gracie does not understand Rory MacDonald's position after the Bellator welterweight champion questioned his future following his fight with Jon Fitch.

After defeating the majority against Fitch (32-7-2 MMA, 1-0-1 BMMA) in the Bellator 220 star on Saturday night, MacDonald (20-5-1 MMA, 2-1-1 BMMA) stated that he was struggling with the necessary state of mind for MMA when it is inflicting damage to another person. MacDonald, who was awarded a title defense despite not winning, said his priority was not to get into another fight.

This, however, is at odds with current plans as the fight with Fitch was an opening match for the Bellator welterweight grand prix. A few seconds after MacDonald made his revelation, he was immediately forced into a showdown with Gracie (9-0 MMA, 7-0 BMMA), who, according to the promotion, would compete at Bellator 222 on June 14.

Doubts remain as to whether the fight will come to fruition within this time frame, but from Gracie's point of view, he can not justify MacDonald's comments.

"It's up to him (whether he wants to fight or not)," Gracie told MMA Junkie after the Bellator 220. "I think he still wants to hurt people. I've seen him try to hurt Fitch tonight, I think he's a bull.

Gracie does not believe that the current situation should occur since he has marked the fight for Fitch. He said the challenger had won the first, third, fourth and fifth rounds and had only approved MacDonald in the second round.

In the end, the judges ruled that it was a draw. And for this reason, MacDonald advances in the tournament. Assuming the fight happens, Gracie said he saw a lot of flaws in the champion.

"Fitch showed how to beat him, I think, and I'm different from Fitch," said Gracie. "If I take someone on the floor, I will not get stuck in someone's guard." I'm going to go for the finish, I'm going to have a good position and I'm going to finish the fight on the ground. That's the difference. "

In the future, Gracie said that he would wait to see where MacDonald would be in his future struggling and would be ready to compete in just seven weeks at Bellator 220. He hopes however that this will happen because he wants the belt.

"I'm waiting for Rory now and I'll be ready," said Gracie. "It's not up to me to decide. I hope it's (ready June 14th). He is the champion. I want to fight for the belt, so I hope it's ready because I will be. "
