And the Red Devils continued. They had a chance to go up 2-0, but another mistake from Gea was then posted. Just before the break, Antonio Rudiger's long shot was not handled properly by Gea. He fell straight to Alonso for the tight finish.
And that's how the half ended, the two teams did not really look good in the final.
Summary of the second half
Despite the lack of goals, what half it was. United pushed forward and approached Marcos Rojo's head on a late header, but his efforts were wiped out by Pedro. Striker Romelu Lukaku has been declared offside a handful of times, putting some chances for United to snatch the winner.
Chelsea had his own chances on the left, including one in the final seconds when Gonzalo Higuain de Gea stoned to two.

That's the mistake of Gea. It is disconcerting to see how a goalkeeper, who looks like the best in the world, becomes a substitute. He does not make that mistake, and United may win the game and become the favorite for fourth place. Now they will probably miss the Champions League next season.

From Lukaku. I mean, I understand why. He's the size needed to trouble the Blues, but he was awful. Time and again, he was offside and never constituted a threat. Nothing more than a backup attacker at this point.

Chelsea is fourth with 68 points and seems to be in top form to maintain a spot in the Champions League. United are three points behind, and although the Red Devils still have a chance, they'll have to rely on the others.
